Billing Rate

M R K Development accept projects both on a flat fee basis and on an hourly fee basis (@ $99AUD/hour). Invoices are typically sent out at the end of each week for work done during the past week, and I currently require a 50% up-front payment for fixed price jobs, hourly work does not require an upfront payment or deposit of any kind.

Billable Work

Often, we get asked to spend hours of time working on parts of a clients project not related to the actual website development (such as writing out the project specifications for simple projects).

While we are happy to do this type of work in addition to the actual website development and software development work, we have to charge for this at our usual billing rate.

Basically, unless specified otherwise, anything before you formally hire our team to do your project is free (such as, my reviewing your specifications and letting you know whether we will be accepting your project), and anything after that point is billable, be that programming, writing down specifications, database design, skype calls, emails, graphics/design work, other general administration etc.

Payment Methods

We have a large array of payment methods available. We accept Matercard and Visa directly on our website. Paypal payments can be arranged for on request (this is helpful for AMEX users). Cheques and direct deposit are also available to Australian customers.

Support

For All business catalyst sites we have developed we have a support fee per year of $500. This covers unlimited support requests and minor changes (eg: spelling mistake, switch an image, look into a problem with BC etc).
Our support agreement also covers minor updates that are defined in the support schedule for each site. Generally you are limited to a maximum of 5 hours of updates for your annual fee.

Large support plans can be arranged but we haven't had enough situations to warrant a schedule of updates larger than our $500 plan.

Training

In house training can be provided and is charged out at $150AUD per hour. On site training will have additional travel expenses added onto the training cost. We also provide online training sessions from time to time that you can be a part of. These are advertised via our email newsletter. The cost of these sessions will depend on the content and duration of the training session.

Large software project specifications

In the case of you having a large project specification that has many in depth business rules a scoping and documentation cost is required. This allows for a weeks work to be done on your project and researching all aspects of a development build. Generally this cost is around $1500AUD to $2500 AUD. These are priced after an initial conversation with our lead project manager Matthew Knighton.
